Happy Rosh Chodesh!
The New Moon was sighted tonight in Jerusalem and over Israel. July 14th eve begins the Hebrew month of Av. July 15th is day 1 of Av.
Av 9 is the historic day on which both Solomon’s and Herod’s Temples were destroyed. Today, it is remembered among the Jews with great mourning and reflection in Jerusalem. I was there on Av 9 in 2004. The Wall area was packed with people. The IDF is there on guard is large numbers. Helicopters fly over as protection. It is the most intensely sad day of the year for Orthodox Jews.
For Christians and Messianic believers, as in II Samuel 8, Acts 2, I Corinthians 6:19-20, the Spirit of Yahuwah who came down onto the Ark at the dedication the first Temple by Solomon, now comes into the temple within our truly re-born spirit within our loins area, when we ask Him — to fill us and anoint us, to empower us, to guide and direct us, to teach us, to convict us, and for His Presence to remain in us. Because of Messiah, we can literally be temples of the Spirit of Yahuwah Himself. HalleluYah!
Messiah died as the Passover Lamb and also as the Yom Kippur Lamb for the nation. Even High Priest Caiphas understood that is some degree – John 11:49-52.
Zechariah 6:12-15: “Thus says Yahuwah of hosts, `See the Man whose Name is the Branch! And from His place He shall branch out, and He shall build the Hekal/Temple of Yahuwah. It is He who is going to build the Hekal of Yahuwah! It is He who is going to bear he splendor! And He shall sit and rule on His throne and shall be a priest on His throne, and the council of peace shall be between Them both, while the crown is for a remembrance in the Hekal of Yahuwah … and those who are far away shall come and build the Hekal of Yahuweh. And you shall know that Yahuwah of hosts has sent Me to you. And this shall be if you diligently obey the voice of Yahuwah your Elohim.’ ”
The word “branch,” also refer to Zechariah 3:8, is “netzer” from which we get Natsarene. Acts 24:5, Sha’ul condemned before the Roman Felix by the Jews: “And having found this man a plague who stirs up dissensions among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Natsarenes…” The true Torah-guarding believers in Messiah Yahushua were never called “Christians.” They were known as followers of the Way, followers of the Natsarene.
Notice the phrase “the council of peace shall be between Them both.” It speaks of the “echad” unity of Yahuwah, the Father and Yahushua the Son!
Messiah Yahushua the soon-coming King and Priest who will sit on His throne in Jerusalem – He will build the Temple of Ezekiel 40-46! If any structure called a “temple” is built on the Temple Mount before He comes, know for sure that it will be a throne for anti-messiah!
The Lamb that was slain is the last and only blood sacrifice that Yahuwah will accept for the forgiveness of sin. “Behold the Lamb of Yahuwah who takes away the sin of the world.” (John 1:29) The rightful High Priest in succession from Aaron was Yochanan (John) the Baptizer. Only the rightful High Priest could have spoken these words – proclaiming Messiah the spotless Lamb of Yahuwah. Messiah was the rightful King of Israel by lineage from King David.
The two Temples of man were both destroyed because of the sin of His priests, the sin of the Levites, the sin of His people. The prophets are full of His lament, as in Isaiah 1. Only after Messiah returns will the Temple of Ezekiel 40-46 be built under His scrutiny, and animal sacrifices restored for the Levitical offerings – not for the forgiveness of sin. Read Leviticus. Messiah has made you a priest unto Yahuwah, fulfilling His will in Exodus 19 and I Peter 2:9. You are part of a “royal priesthood.” Be a good priest!
