Greetings: Report from Devorah Gordon in Jerusalem: The New Moon has been sighted from Israel this evening, Thursday, 9 May 2024, thus marking the beginning of the month. The crescent New Moon was sighted from:
* Jerusalem (Rechavia) at 7:41pm by Devorah Gordon, followed by Chaya and Gil Ashendorf * Jerusalem at 7:58pm by Monica and Steve Ruby * Haifa (Kiryat Chaim) at 7:45pm by Ephraim Amnon This is the month of Sivan. On May 19th, Sunday, the 50 day from First Fruits, as per Leviticus 23, will be the Festival of Shavu’ot/Pentecost. This Monday, May 13th, is my 73rd anniversary of my new birth in 1951. In 1951 it was “Mother’s Day.” I was 6, almost 7. My parents and I went to Los Angeles to be with my mother’s brother and his family for Mother’s day. I told my mother after church that morning that I was going to walk the aisle and be born again that night. Being a Baptist, she was very leery about that. I was not yet 7. I assured her that I knew what I was doing. I was in the choir that morning at church and felt strongly that I must do that in the evening – I was so excited. While with my 3 cousins, children of my uncle John, I witnessed with great joy about Jesus and His salvation. They were raised Catholic – all about my age, only 1 older. I told them that at church that night I was going to be born again. They did not understand of course. But I began my life of witnessing about Jesus. That night, as the “invitational hymn” was sung at the end of the service and the call went forth for those who wanted to be born again to come “forward,” my mother said “you skipped down the aisle.” Three others my age also went forward, one of them the pastor’s daughter. It was a glorious day. One I honor each year. We were all baptized together on “Children’s Day;” I think which was in June. Let us rejoice that the book of Acts is for us today, and we can have the glorious relationship with Father and Son that the early disciples and apostles had – and receive from Them the glorious gifts of the Spirit of Yahuwah (I Corinthians 12:1-11) It is what Solomon prayed as he dedicated the temple in I Kings 8. He had the priests bring up the ark to put in the “Holy of Holies,” in the Temple. Then he prayed that the Spirit of Yahuwah, Yahuwah Himself, would come down over the Ark, as He had for 40 years down in the City of David where most all the psalms were written – about 1 ½ blocks south of the Temple Mount to this day. I received the baptism into the Spirit in 1966. My life changed forever – my relationship with Yahuwah deepened. I heard Him speak to me in His temple within my spirit. I became His Set-Apart Place. He immediately gave me 8 of 9 “gifts of the Spirit,” and I began moving in miracles, and all He wanted to share with me. So, we guard the festival of Shavu’ot, for we need His Presence within us now more than ever before. My testimony is under the Mikvah of the Spirit. Shalom, blessings, Yedidah Happy Sivan! |
