LETTER WITH NEW MOON REPORT FOR IYAR

Shalom! Rosh Chodesh Report from Jerusalem

The sky over Jerusalem tonight was covered in black clouds, so no renewed moon was seen with the naked eye as is required to declare the new month – by “the ancient paths, where the good Jeremiah 6:16.

Thus, by default to the 30th day, tomorrow eve is Rosh Chodesh for Iyar.

The renewed moon each month must be sighted by two witnesses from Jerusalem, then the new month can be declared. Oftentimes, western observers go by witnesses in the Negev or witnesses in the north of Israel who see the new moon, but Jerusalem is where the ancient paths take us to determine the progression of Yahuwah’s timing.

A few years back, I was with Devorah Gordon and team on her high-roof-top perch to sight the new moon. From that vantage point, we could see Tekoa, 4 miles away. Some sight the new moon from the Mount of Olives, which is perfect.

One night I was in the Old City of Jerusalem and went out to sight the new moon. It was a clear night, but I could not find it. I was very discouraged. Then I thought I’d walk down a little bit from the Jaffa Gate towards the street below and look back from another vantage point. As I began to do that, I looked back towards the Jaffa Gate and there it was. I was so excited. I called Nehemia Gordon who was on the Mount of Olives at the time for new moon-sighting, and let him know I sighted it, which he included in his report.

There’s no place on earth like East Jerusalem! It is the epicenter of the once-Garden of Eden, and where our Savior restored us to He and His Father by His willing death in our place, followed by His victorious resurrection.

Remember, as per Genesis 1, Elohim’s days begin at sunset. So in Jerusalem at sunset tonight, April 21st began. Tomorrow night, after sunset, we enter Iyar – April 22nd. Tomorrow night, as in Psalm 81, blow the shofar for the new/renewed moon.

Remember that “THE WORD OF YAHUWAH IS NOT AN AMERICAN DOCUMENT,” as a dear Messianic Jewish friend in Tiberias passionately states. It is not a WESTERN WORLD, WESTERN CULTURE DOCTUMENT! It is an ancient Hebrew document that begins with the Word of Yahuwah’s “Instructions and Teachings” (which is what Torah means), first via Moses, then by His Prophets and scribes, then His Apostles.

Psalm 81:3: “Blow the ram’s horn (“shofar”) at new moon, and again at full moon to call a festival!”

Shalom, blessings, Yedidah – April 20, 2023
