NEW MOON REPORT FOR AVIV 2023

NEW MOON REPORT FOR AVIV 2023

Greetings:

Here is part of the report by Devorah Gordon today, March 22, 2023: “We just got back from looking for the New Moon, and at the time of this writing, we are not aware of any positive naked eye sightings from this evening’s observation on 22 March 2023.  If no positive reports come in from this evening’s observation, we will go out again tomorrow evening to look for the New Moon and let you know whether we saw it.”

So, perhaps tomorrow night, March 23, 2023, the 30th day of Adar, will begin Aviv 1.

The barley was in good abundance this year around Jerusalem and in various places of Israel. As we learn from Exodus 7-12, it was when the barley was in the “aviv” stage of growth, about 2 weeks before harvest-stage, that a great hail storm hit Egypt and destroyed the barley. But, we note the time of year by this – and so each year the stage of the barley is noted to determine whether we have Aviv, the first month of the calendar for us, (Exodus 12:2), or we have an Adar Bet – a second month of Adar.

I’ll confirm tomorrow. The new moon must be sighted by two or more witnesses from Jerusalem to declare the new month on the 29th of the old month. If the new moon is not sighted by two or more witnesses on the 29th, by default the new month begins on the 30th day at sunset. Remember Yahuwah’s days begin at sunset – not midnight! Genesis 1: “the evening and the morning were the first day…” The night precedes the morning light.

Messiah rose from the dead “early the first day of the week.” Ignorantly, western Greco-Roman culture believers celebrate “Easter,” another name for a pagan goddess, at sunrise. That ceremony is part of ancient sun god worship.

When the Bible says He arose early on the first day of the week, it means He arose not long after sunset Saturday night. It was during that night vigil that He ascended to His Father with a representation of His shed blood. It was early before sunrise when the women went to the tomb and found He had arisen.

The culture of the Bible is not Greek or Roman, it is Middle Eastern, ancient, going back to Abraham, Yitzak/Isaac, and Ya’cob/Jacob.

So, we get the onset of spring and Aviv close together this year. Passover will be on the 15th of the month after sunset. The following Sunday will be First Fruits. Check the details in Leviticus 23.

Passover pictures Messiah’s death. The time after Passover until First Fruits pictures His burial and His descent into Paradise, and into hell to take the keys of death and hell out of the hand of Lucifer. He arose 72 hours later early after sunset, beginning the first day of the week – and the Festival of First Fruits. Messiah is our First Fruits offering – because He rose from the dead, we can also. He made it clear that to all that He would be in the underworld 72 hours, as was Jonah in the belly of the whale. He died in the late afternoon of Wednesday and was buried shortly after sunset. Wednesday after sunset to Thursday after sunset, to Friday after sunset, to Saturday after sunset – 3 days and 3 nights in the heart of the earth.

Shalom, Yedidah
