New Moon Report!
Shabbat Shalom!
The new moon for Sh’vat, the 11th Hebrew month, was sighted last night, December 27th, from Tiberias and Poriyya Elite, but not from Jerusalem.
Yahuwah put His Name in Jerusalem, thus from ancient times the sighting of the new moon was determined from Jerusalem by two or more witnesses – after their testimony was approved by the High Priest. Then fires were set on certain mountains to alert those in Judea and Samaria that the new moon had been sighted.
So, by default to the 30th day, the 11th Hebrew month of Sh’vat will begin with the new month tonight – December 28th.
There’s an Adar Bet year coming up for sure.
From Avib of God:
2020 will most likely be an intercalated year with Wednesday February 26 being the first day of an added 13th month. Thus the following potentials:
New Year: Thursday, March 26th
Passover: Wednesday, April 8th
Unleavened Bread: Thursday, April 9 through Wednesday the 15th
Wavesheaf: Sunday, April 12th
Pentecost/Weeks: Sunday, May 31
Trumpets: Saturday, September 19th
Atonement: Monday, September 28th
Feast of Tabernacles: Saturday, October 3rd through Friday the 9th
Last Great Day/Eighth Day: Saturday, October 10th
Of course, we’ll take it one month at a time for exact dates depending on the sighting of the new moon from Jerusalem.
However, for tonight: HAPPY ROSH CHODESH!
Blessings! Yedidah
