Shalom again! UPDATE
As Devorah Gordon reported this afternoon CST, USA, the moon was sighted as it came out from behind the clouds over Jerusalem by two or more witnesses in Jerusalem. So, we are officially in the month of Tammuz. Blow the shofar, and celebrate Rosh Chodesh.
Numbers 10:10, Hosea 2:11, Psalm 81:3-4; have a festive meal, I Samuel 20: 5, 24, Isaiah 66:23, Ezekiel 46:3. It was also celebrated with a special “sacrifice,” as in Numbers 28:11-15, II Chronicles 2:3, Ezra 3:4-5, Ezekiel 45:17, Ezekiel 46:6 – these are various scriptures that Devorah posted, related to Rosh Chodesh.
In ancient times, the moon was sighted by the naked eye, no binoculars or telescopes, by two or more witnesses from Jerusalem. The two main witnesses would go up to the eastern gate and call for the High Priest to come and give witnesses to their testimony. The two would tell of their sighting of the moon, making a new month. Sometimes the priest would ask questions to make sure it was a true report. Then he would OK it, and order someone to light a fire on the Mount of Olives. The next hill north for the job lit their fire, then on and on up to the north area of Dan. Thus, all knew within a relatively short time that officially the new month had begun. Shofars sounded from these places, and praise went up to the Creator for His marvelous signs of the continuance of time.
Soon folks, “time will be no more,” and for many of us in danger zones, that time may be sooner than we think. The marking of time is very important, for Yahuwah moves within our dimension to align us to His eternal dimension.
Blessings! Yedidah
